INSCHOOL National Workshop in the Czech Republic

On 10 December, the INSCHOOL Project in the Czech Republic has organized an online national workshop with the participation of school directors, teachers, Roma municipality coordinators, educational experts, as well as the INSCHOOL coordination team.

The online workshop gathered around 30 participants with the purpose to present the general project objectives and methodology and take stock of the current implementation cycle in the Czech Republic.

The workshops started with a general presentation and overview, followed by an update of the implementation and activities taking place in Czech Republic. The central part of the workshops was dedicated to the presentation of the projects’ methodology, "Index for Inclusion: a guide to school development led by inclusive values" conducted by co-author himself – Mr Tony Booth. In a captivating manner, Mr Booth discussed the importance of values in teachers’ work as a key to ensuring inclusiveness. He used various examples that were relevant for the Czech context and stimulated debate among participants. The event was concluded with an interaction and exchange among participants and representatives of the schools, acknowledging on the opportunities provided under the project, and reflecting on benefits and impact of the Index methodology.

The INSCHOOL project is currently implemented in the following schools in the Czech Republic: Primary school Pobezovice; Primary school Plynárenská 2953 – Teplice; Primary school Petrin – Bruntál, Školní 2; Primary school Primary school Morkovice, Slizany; Primary school Graficka  – Prague 5; and Primary school Krnov supported with methodological interventions.

The participating project schools have already gone through an inclusive development cycle and were able to produce their Inclusive School Development Plans. With the support of the INSCHOOL Facilitators the schools are currently in the process of developing funding applications which will enable schools to operationalize their Plans and carry out inclusive activities with all children.
