What can be done to make sure that students with disabilities are less vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic?

The outbreak of COVID-19 has caused students with disabilities to be additionally vulnerable, due to the lack of comprehensive methodologies that would allow them to actively participate in learning processes. The action “Quality education for all in Montenegro” supported the development of the guidelines that would enable the education institutions to successfully tackle this issue, thus ensuring a successful learning experience for this group of students.

The Guideline offers information about the characteristics and specifics of concrete developmental disability and difficulties, and how to organise, adjust and select strategies for teaching for these students. It also contains a description of teaching and assistive aids, devices and technology that can be used for successfully working with such students. It has been developed as a guiding tool for vice-deans and other managerial staff of public and private universities in Montenegro.

The Guideline has been developed within the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022” and its action on “Quality education for all” in Montenegro.
