Back Recommendations for improvement of existing e-library resources within the Western Balkan Judicial Training Institutions

With the view to strengthening the capacities of the Western Balkan Judicial Training Institutions to ensure the effective implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights at the national level, the action "Judicial training institutes for Quality and Sustainability” (JA-NET)" will provide recommendations for improvement of existing e-library resources for 7 judicial training institutions in six Beneficiaries – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.

For this purpose, a descriptive assessment of available e-library resources and existing human rights training materials and other legal publications within the Western Balkan Judicial Training Institutions is currently underway. The assessment is carried out within the School of Magistrates of Albania, Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Republika Srpska, Kosovo Judicial Academy, Judicial Training Center of Montenegro, the Judicial Academy of Serbia and the Academy for Judges and Prosecutors of North Macedonia.

As a result of this assessment, detailed recommendations for further improvement of existing e-library resources will be developed and relevant further action discussed with the beneficiaries.

The action "Judicial training institutes for Quality and Sustainability” (JA-NET)" is a part of the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”.

 

*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo Declaration of Independence.
