Members of the Steering Committee for “Quality education for all” action in Serbia held their second meeting in Belgrade on 7 September 2023. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Institute for Improvement of Education, the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation and the Ministry of European Integration.
Vesna Atanasova, Head of Unit at the Education Department of the Council of Europe opened the meeting acknowledging the hard work and excellent co-operation of the members of the Committee.
Anamarija Viček, State Secretary in the Ministry of Education, said that the Council of Europe’s support through the implementation of this action was important and stressed the eagerness of the Ministry to continue with further integration of the concept of democratic culture in schools.
After welcoming words, the project team presented activities that have taken place since the previous Steering Committee meeting including numerous public events, notably, “Days of Education for Democratic Culture” and the week of the Council of Europe, Peer learning, mentor schools training and many others. Activities for the next period up until the third Steering Committee meeting were also presented. The members of the Steering Committee approved the proposed plan and expressed their firm commitment to jointly achieve the goals of the action.
The action “Quality education for all” is implemented under the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye”.
