Promotion of Diversity and Equality in Kosovo*: towards improving anti-discrimination reporting mechanisms

Our EU and Council of Europe joint action in Kosovo* - “Promotion of Diversity and Equality”, in cooperation with the Office for Good Governance - Prime Minister’s Office, held today its second consultative meeting with anti-discrimination focal points in the ministerial and municipal level, following the first consultative meeting last October. The aim of the discussion was to exchange best practices and challenges that key actors in the field are facing in their daily work, and discuss the ongoing reforms for improving the reporting mechanisms, with a particular focus on the coordination, data collection and quality of yearly reporting on human rights.

The discussions were very productive and constructive, identifying where key improvements are most needed. In this context, effective reporting tools are vital to ensure that human rights policies and legislation fully take account the needs of those at risk of discrimination. The local partners confirmed their commitment to continue working with the EU and Council of Europe action team for further improving anti-discrimination reporting mechanisms.

The action “Promotion of Diversity and Equality in Kosovo” is part of the “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, a co-operation initiative co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
