Four pilot schools introduced to work with individual education plans for children with special needs

Pilot schools from the municipality of Mitrovica participated in a training specifically designed to guide school teams into developing individual action plans for children with special needs. The workshops were organised over two days, bringing together the school teams from two schools each, and were held on 10 and 24 February respectively. Each school team is composed of a school principal, seven teachers, one community and one parents`s representative.

The participants welcomed the opportunity to be involved in such an activity, as it equipped them with a new tool to work concretely with children with special needs. Two local Council of Europe experts guided the participants through the process of developing individual action plans and also encouraged sharing of information among peers from different school teams.

The activity was organised within the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe Horizontal Facility Action “Fostering a Democratic School culture and diversity in schools” in Kosovo*.
