Around 40 teachers from the pilot schools attended online training on competences for democratic culture on 25-26 June. Two national experts delivered presentations and facilitated discussion among the participants. Furthermore, the teachers who were involved in learning about the democratic competences during the Horizontal Facility first phase also shared their experience and knowledge with those who have been included for the first time, creating a sort of cascade training among peers that facilitated an excellent exchange of knowledge.

Amongst other things, the best ways to teach competences were discussed. Some of the questions addressed were: Is it through social and art studies or it can also be done through natural science classes; What approach gives the most effective results, cross-curricular, extra-curricular or just learning over the classes; Despite the limitations of online learning, participants displayed a great deal of enthusiasm and proactivity.

The event was organised within the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022” and its action on “Quality education for all” in Montenegro.
