On 27th February 2018, a new action on education in Bosnia and Herzegovina “Quality education in multi-ethnic societies”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe as part of the Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey will be launched in Sarajevo.
The launching event will gather representatives of relevant Ministries and representatives of institutions on State, Entity, Cantonal and Brčko levels, together with civil society organisations, international organisations, and other relevant stakeholders. The overall objective of the action is to improve the quality of education in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the formal education system through applying anti-discriminatory approaches in line with Council of Europe standards and practices.
Speakers at the opening session will include Mr Adnan Husić, Assistant Minister, Ministry of Civil Affairs, Mr Khaldoun Sinno, Deputy Head of European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Drahoslav Stefanek, Head of Council of Europe Office in Sarajevo and Mrs Sarah Keating, Head of the Division for Cooperation and Capacity Building, Education Department, Council of Europe.
The launching event will start at 11:00 on Tuesday, 27 February 2018, at Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Trg BiH 1, Sarajevo and is open to media. A press conference is foreseen after the event at 12:00.
