As a follow up to the joint European Union/Council of Europe Horizontal Facility action, Strengthen integrity and combat corruption in higher education in Serbia, the Academic Integrity courses Licence Agreement between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Council of Europe was signed in Belgrade by Mr Tobias Flessenkemper, Head of Belgrade Office, and Mr Mladen Šarčević, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development.
The Agreement, which passes on the rights for the Academic Integrity courses created within the project, will make it possible for all the interested higher education institutions in Serbia to adapt and use the courses in their institutions.

The two courses on academic integrity, Academic Integrity I and II are comprehensive resources in Serbian language that cover major important topics and issues ranging from the principles of academic writing to plagiarism and corruption. They are designed based on the model of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, but took into account the local context, problems and needs and they truthfully represent the state of affairs in higher education community in Serbia. The contribution from the partners was invaluable as they took active participation in the course content development and some of the key beneficiary are also represented in the courses - Assistant Minister for Higher Education, Rector of the State University of Novi Pazar, to name a few.

The signing of the Agreement marks the unique opportunity now available for all Serbian higher education institutions – they will have a resource at their disposal they can easily adapt to their needs and use it consistently with all students but also teaching staff, to raise awareness about the detrimental consequences of plagiarism, academic dishonesty and general breaches of academic integrity.
