NO to Antigypsyism: The Launch of EU/CoE Programme EQUIROM

The European Union and Council of Europe Programme "Equality and Freedom from Discrimination for Roma- EQUIROM" officially launches in Brussels, Belgium.

The EU/CoE Programme EQUIROM represents a significant step forward in promoting equality and freedom from discrimination for Roma communities, and in fighting against racism and particularly antigypsyism as a specific form of racism towards Roma. The aim of the event is to foster discussions about how to enhance the positive image of Roma in the media and build future collaborations between organizations and bodies in Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Italy, where the EQUIROM project is being implemented.

The official launch of the joint EU/CoE Programme EQUIROM is set to take place on 8-9 June 2023 in Brussels, Belgium, in a hybrid format. The event will gather together representatives of various organizations and bodies, including the European Commission, the Council of Europe, national media regulatory bodies, journalists and media representatives, as well as Roma and pro-Roma civil society organizations, and international stakeholders and collaborators of the EQUIROM programme.

The working language of the meeting will be English.

You are cordially invited to participant in the event.
