Workshop on court management held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova

Mr Sami Ben Hadj Yahia, magistrate at the Court of Appeal of Angers and coordinator of training programmes at the National School for the Judiciary of France (l'École Nationale de la Magistrature), familiarised the participants with the organisation, methodology and content of the training on court management in France and the tools developed by CEPEJ.

A workshop was held on 27-28 June 2016 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.  Leaders and trainers representing the Justice Academy of Azerbaijan and the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova actively took part in the discussions on the training needs and the way to develop and introduce sustainable courses on efficient court management, referring in particular to the relevant tools of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ). Both judicial training institutions represented in the event are committed to implement training courses on judicial management for judges and court staff by the end of 2016 as part of the efforts to improve the efficiency and quality of justice as a public service.

*The activity was conducted under the Projects "Support to Increased Efficiency of Courts, Improved Training of Judges and Judicial Self-governance in Azerbaijan" and "Strengthening the efficiency of justice and support to lawyer’s profession in the Republic of Moldova", which are part of the CoE/EU Eastern Partnership Programmatic Cooperation Framework 2015-2017, financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.
