Working group on satisfaction surveys in the CEPEJ pilot courts of Azerbaijan

On 21-22 June 2016 a working group on satisfaction surveys in the CEPEJ pilot courts of Azerbaijan was held in Baku. It was attended by representatives of five CEPEJ pilot courts who will implement satisfaction surveys of their own by the end of 2016. Representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Judicial Legal Council, Justice Academy, as well as national consultants took part in the consultations. Together with the CEPEJ experts and a representative of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, participants carried out a thorough examination on the different aspects of implementing satisfaction surveys in courts, including surveys’ objectives and methodologies as applied to different target groups (among lawyers, staff and users). CEPEJ experts representing Italy and France explained the challenges of conducting satisfaction surveys at court level and provided advice based on their experience and they presented best practices collected by CEPEJ. A core part of the activity was the analysis, adaptation and approval of the draft questionnaires as well as common agreement on the methodology to be applied by the pilot courts.

*The activity was conducted under the Project "Support to Increased Efficiency of Courts, Improved Training of Judges and Judicial Self-governance in Azerbaijan", which is part of the CoE/EU Eastern Partnership Programmatic Cooperation Framework 2015-2017, financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.
