Two Executive training sessions on Enhancing Public (Financial) Governance and Management in European Cities

The Council of Europe (Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reform) is organising two high-level executive trainings on Enhancing Public (Financial) Governance and Management in European Cities on 6-7 March (for participants from Moldova) and 9-10 March (for participants from Armenia) 2017 in Vienna. The trainings will be delivered by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) – EIPA Barcelona and are addressed to mayors, senior local public officials and representatives of the in-line ministries of Moldova and Armenia.

These executive and practice-oriented courses aim to provide participants with a sound overview of the Politics and Management Deal approach and methodology supported by hands-on practices and stewardship from the different European city cultures. Participants will acquire the knowledge, capacities and skills to design public strategies, align them with political priorities as well as to embed them to the available financial resources (budgets) and establish sound performance and management/control systems which improve transparency, accountability and intergenerational equity. A special session is dedicated to access the European Union funds and its financial regulations.

The events are organised as part of the Programme "Strengthening Institutional Frameworks for Local Governance in the Eastern Partnership countries" under the Programmatic Cooperation Framework (PCF) for 2015-2017 funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Council of Europe.
