Training sessions on gender-based discrimination for judges and prosecutors of Moldova

Within the framework of the project “Supporting national efforts for prevention and combating discrimination in Moldova”, two training courses for judges and prosecutors on “discrimination on grounds of gender through the European Convention of Human Rights and national legislation” will be held in Chisinau on 27 and 28 October. The trainings are organised in co-operation with the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova.   

The training courses will cover the concepts and forms of discrimination, and the protected grounds under the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Separate sessions will be dedicated to presenting international standards and national legislation that regulate gender equality and gender-based violence. During the training courses, a representative of the Council for Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality will make a presentation on its activity and the case law in the field.
