A one-day training on Freedom of Expression and Privacy for journalists from the region was organised on 2 December 2016 in Lankaran, Azerbaijan, within the framework of the joint EU/COE Project “Freedom of expression and media freedom”.

The main aim of the training was to raise awareness on the European standards on freedom of expression and privacy and to give the floor to open discussions. Local experts made presentations on Council of Europe and European Convention on Human Rights standards on freedom of expression and privacy as well as on freedom of expression and privacy in Azerbaijani legislation.

Approximately 25 journalists from Lankaran and nearby regions participated in the training and took an active part in discussions.
