Outline of the training manual on equal access of women to justice in Eastern Partnership countries

The outline of the training manual for judges and prosecutors on ensuring access to justice for women is now available following the regional workshop on 18 March 2016.

The training of legal professionals is key to addressing the multi-fold barriers that women face in accessing justice, which include discrimination and gender stereotypes.

This workshop brought together representatives of judicial training institutions and national experts to lay the foundations for the development of a training manual for judges and prosecutors on equal access of women to justice. The manual will be available in English and in the respective languages of the countries participating in the project. The proposed outline of the manual is available here with two main parts: a general part and national parts. A full first draft of the general part of the manual will be discussed during a second workshop in July, in Kyiv, Ukraine.

This activity takes place in the framework of the Council of Europe and the European Union project on “Improving Women’s Access to Justice in Five Eastern Partnership countries” (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine).
