Judges and prosecutors discuss women’s access to justice and women’s rights at the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova

As part of the regional project on Improving Women’s Access to Justice in Five Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine), a third training seminar took place at the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the Council of Europe. Twenty judges and prosecutors discussed women’s access to justice and women’s rights, with reference to national and international standards such as the Istanbul Convention and relevant case law of the European Court of Human Rights on women’s rights, as well as women’s representation in the judiciary.

The training seminar, led by three international and one national trainers, integrated two workshops dedicated to access to justice for women victims of sexual violence and women victims of domestic violence.
