Regional workshop to develop a training manual on access to justice for women

A third regional workshop to develop a training manual on Ensuring Access to Justice for Women took place in Tbilisi on 22 September 2016 at the High School of Justice of Georgia. Representatives of judicial training institutions, national and international experts discussed the first drafts of the national chapters of Armenia, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The meeting was opened by Mr Lasha Maghradze, Director of the High School of Justice of Georgia; Mr Cristian Urse, Head of Council of Europe Office in Tbilisi; and Ms Sophio Jiadze, Head of the Professional Development and Career Management Centre in the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Georgia.

The training manual is being developed in the framework of the Council of Europe and the European Union project on Improving Women’s Access to Justice in Five Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine). The full draft of the manual will be presented at the regional conference of the project in Chisinau (the Republic of Moldova) on 24-25 October 2016.
