Regional conference on internet governance and digital agenda

The multi-stakeholder approach to internet governance in Eastern Partnership countries and the role of the Council of Europe with respect to human rights on the internet were among the topics of the regional conference on internet governance and digital agenda organised by the Council of Europe in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova on 6-7 December 2017.

This high-level event was organised in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova within the framework of the EU/CoE Joint Programme Partnership for Good Governance.

Around 70 representatives of public authorities, business community and civil society from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus attended the conference.

The conference represented a flexible forum to discuss Council of Europe standards on internet governance, rights of internet users, and responsibilities of internet service providers, to share best practices with regard to multi-stakeholder approach on internet governance, identify common challenges and discuss future actions in Eastern Partnership countries.
