Within the European Union/Council of Europe joint project to“Promote Professional and Responsible Journalism by Supporting Regional Network of Self-regulatory Bodies” the Council of Europe (CoE) organised the Annual Meeting of Regional Network of Self-regulatory Bodies. The representatives of the self-regulatory bodies from the Eastern Partnership countries and the Russian Federation attended the event.

The participants presented the main achievements and findings of their work during the last years and discussed some landmark cases considered by the national self-regulatory institutes. Georgian and Moldovan colleagues shared the experience gained during the pre-elections campaign while the Ukrainian colleagues informed the participants about the problems related to the coverage of the cases concerning the internally displaced persons or refugees. The participants have actively discussed the ways how to promote the newly established cross border complaint body and generally the network of self-regulatory bodies. It was agreed to prepare the basic document reflecting the communication and development strategy of the network as well as the creation of the special website.
