PCF launch meeting for reforming electoral practice in Eastern Partnership countries
A one day kick-off meeting with representatives from NGOs in charge of domestic election observation of the Eastern Partnership countries took place in Strasbourg on 16 February 2015. The objectives of the event were to introduce to stakeholders the 3-year project and to agree with them on a workplan and a time frame for its implementation.

The project jointly financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe aims inter alia at:
  • building the capacities of domestic NGOs to perform election observation in a free and transparent manner;
  • building the capacities of political parties to increase women participation in politics as well as participation of persons from minority groups;
  • increasing voters’ awareness with particular focus on first-time voters and youth.

More information on this meeting, including its report, can be found on the Council of Europe electoral assistance and census website.
