A regional conference on Money in Politics on 18-19 February 2016, will gather political finance experts from around the world to identify areas of political finance regulations in need of reform; exchange good practices and lessons learnt on the effective enforcement and monitoring of political finance legal frameworks; identify approaches, mechanisms and procedures for improving the implementation of existing regulations; and help form a regional peer network on political finance.
The EU/CoE Programmatic Cooperation Framework is funding the participation of representatives from the Parliaments, Central Election Commissions and civil society organisations from Eastern Partnership countries as well as the participation of the Gender equality leading expert of regional study on women political representation in the EaP countries.
The event is organised jointly by the Council of Europe, the International IDEA, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the State Audit Office of Georgia, the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD) and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
