Improving the training of Judges in Azerbaijan

Azeri judges representing the courts of various levels participated in a workshop to be trained as trainers. This workshop on training cycle management took place in Baku on 23-24 May 2016

At the opening of the event the representatives of the Council of Europe Office in Baku, European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan and the Justice Academy emphasised importance of CoE/EU support in curriculum, institutional and capacity development of the Justice Academy, in particular enhancing the knowledge of trainers on training cycle management: analyses and evaluation.

Training was carried out by the national and international trainers in a very interactive manner inviting the participants to brainstorm and share their training experience with the group. By the end of the workshop the participants learned how to conduct training needs assessment, how to develop training needs assessment questionnaire and evaluation questionnaire. In the course of 2016 the Project will continue supporting the Justice Academy to ensure high quality, comprehensive training.  

This activity took place within the framework of the EU/CoE Joint Project “Support to increased efficiency of courts, improved training of judges and judicial self-governance in Azerbaijan”. under the 3rd component of the project - improving training of judges in Azerbaijan.
