Grant for distance learning for Police Academy staff

The Head of Council of Europe Office in Georgia and the Rector of Police Academy signed a Grant Agreement aimed at supporting the development of a distance learning course for the staff of Temporary Detention Isolators. The training programme is expected to equip participants with theoretical knowledge in relevant areas (legislative basis, human rights protection standards, healthcare standards etc.), as well as practical skills to fulfil their duties. Once ready, the distance learning module will be available for all new police recruits.

The Grant Agreement is part of the Council of Europe’s activities to support the Police Academy to enhance learning process for Temporary Detention Isolators’ staff. It is concluded within the framework of the CoE/EU Eastern Partnership Programmatic Cooperation Framework Project “Human Rights and Healthcare in prisons and Other Closed Institutions in Georgia II”.
