Georgian judges advancing their knowledge on the European Anti-Discrimination standards

The Council of Europe continues providing series of trainings on the European Anti-Discrimination Standards for legal professionals in Georgia. Within the EU funded project, on 27-28 April 2017 Council of Europe organised a two-day training on Anti-Discrimination Standards for judges.

As a result of the training judges advanced skills and knowledge on anti-discrimination standards both at international and national level. During the event participants discussed different kinds of discrimination, discriminatory grounds, relevant case law of European Court of Human Rights and existing practice in Georgian legislation.

The Training took place under the EU/CoE Joint Project "Application of the European Convention of Human Rights and harmonisation of national legislation and judicial practice in Georgia in line with European Standards", which is funded through the EU-CoE Programme “Partnership for Good Governance”.
