An exchange visit of the pilot prison staff from the Kremenchuk and Pryluky Juvenile Prisons to the Lviv Youth Probation Centre took place on 26 September 2016.
During the one-day visit, the hosts shared their approaches towards the work with juveniles in conflict with law outside custody; presented the risk, needs and responsiveness assessment methodology and explained the use of selected social skill courses.
The discussion of professionals coming from different backgrounds but working on common problems will continue through networking and further contacts.
The exchange visit was organized in the framework of the EU/CoE Joint Project “Further Support for Penitentiary Reform in Ukraine 2015-2017”, which is funded through the CoE/EU Programmatic Cooperation Framework for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus. Notably, and in cooperation with the Canada-funded Ukraine Juvenile Justice Reform Project (UJJRP).
