Five workshops on non-discrimination in Moldova

The Council of Europe, in co-operation with the Council for Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality, will organise five training courses (27-31 March) for five different target groups on “European non-discrimination best practices to support national alignment with the European Court of Human Rights and European Social Charter legal standards” in Chisinau.

Representatives of the State Chancellery from the district’s local Councils, Directors of Kindergartens from the country’s districts, Head of Departments of the local health-care centres/hospitals from the country’s districts, students graduating the Police Academy and journalists will attend the trainings.

The training course will focus on the international and European non-discrimination standards, overview of the European Convention on Human Rights, the revised European Social Charter and the European Union standards.

Separate sessions will be dedicated to the national context on non-discrimination issues: legal practices and issues.

This is an activity organised in the framework of the project “Supporting national efforts for prevention and combating discrimination in Moldova” which is part of the Programmatic Cooperation Framework for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus and is funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.
