Back Training on European standards in antidiscrimination in Ukraine

Training on European standards in antidiscrimination in Ukraine

On 13-14 July 2015, the third and final of a series of workshops was held for the representatives of the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights on antidiscrimination in the light of European human rights standards. With the help of national and international experts, the participants familiarised themselves with the requirements of the European Convention on Human Rights and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights on antidiscrimination and discussed multiple cases of discrimination.

These workshops are organised through the European Union and Council of Europe Programmatic Cooperation Framework for Eastern Partnership Countries, under the project to 'Strengthen the implementation of the European human rights standards in Ukraine'. The project is planning to conduct another series of training courses on antidiscrimination for the newly recruited staff of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner’s Office in autumn 2015.
