A study visit for representatives of the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CCET), Central Election Commission of Moldova, Ministry of Education, National Institute of Justice, Academy of Public Administration and State University of Moldova took place from 1 to 5 August 2016 in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain, in the framework of the bilateral project “Strengthening the capacities of the CCET by Central Election Commission of the Republic of Moldova” which is part of the Programmatic Cooperation Framework (PCF).

The visit aimed at familiarising with the various forms and methods of management and promotion of electoral research activities. Participants visited the Catalan Electoral Management Body and the General Directorate of Internal Policy and Electoral Processes of the Ministry of the Interior of Spain, the Catalan Office for Universities and Research and the University Pompeu Fabra, the Catalan Institute for Research and Advanced Studies, the Catalan School of Public Administration, the Spanish School of Judges, the Spanish Ombudsman Office and with two independent researchers to discuss about electoral matters.

As a result, the representatives of Moldovans institutions learned about Spanish practices in research activities and public governance issues and established new contacts for possible cooperation with different bodies.
