Conference on combating corruption in higher education in Armenia

On 13 December 2016, a Conference, presenting main achievements of the European Union and Council of Europe Joint Programme 'Strengthening Integrity and Combatting Corruption in Higher Education in Armenia', opened in Yerevan. The conference, organised at the end of the second year of the project implementation, brought together some 80 educational professionals and decision makers from the higher education system in Armenia and international experts, to take a closer look at the results achieved and lessons learnt. 

In her opening address, Ms Karine Harutyunyan, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, stressed, in  particular, the  project input into the revision of the higher education legislation, which aims to support institutional autonomy and support transparent higher education governance.

The conference  which will involve two intensive days of  interactive sessions, will allow to discuss the practical materials, such as model codes of ethics for all actors in higher education institutions and toolkits ensuring transparency and accountability, which are the latest outcomes of the project.
