On 27 March 2018, the kick-off meeting of the “Routes4U” Project Steering Committee took place in the premises of the European Commission in Brussels. The meeting was organized by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes | EPA (Council of Europe), in collaboration with the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy | DG REGIO (European Commission).

This Kick-off meeting was the opportunity for the stakeholders of the Routes4U Project to meet: The Council of Europe (EPA on Cultural Routes), the European Commission (DG REGIO, DG EAC and DG GROW), the four EU Macro-Regions (EUSAIR, EUSALP, EUSBSR, EUSDR) and representatives of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. We also had the pleasure to count with the presence of the European Committee of the Regions.

The meeting was opened by Mr Jean-Pierre Halkin, Head of Unit of the Competence Centre Macro-regions and European Territorial Cooperation (DG REGIO – European Commission), Mr Marco Onida, Coordinator EU Strategy for the Danube region, Competence Centre Macro-regions and European Territorial Cooperation (DG REGIO – European Commission) and Mr Stefano Dominioni, Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes (Council of Europe). Mrs Constanze Metzger, Routes4U Senior Project Manager, presented the methodology, objectives and actions of the project. Mrs Denise de Roux, Routes4U Communication officer, introduced the Routes4U website and presence of the project on social media.

The active involvement of all the participants and exchange of view during the roundtable contributed to the success of the meeting and laid down the foundations for a fruitful collaboration. For more information about the meeting, we invite you to refer to the resources below.
