In the framework of the Pilot Project Scheme « Human Rights and Democracy in action », the first coordination meeting of the pilot project entitled "Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education: Diversity of Approaches" took place in Vilnius from 23 to 24 July 2013.

The meeting brought together the EDC/HRE Coordinators as well as experts from Belarus, Georgia, Lithuania and Russian Federation and was the opportunity to discuss and agree upon the outlines of a questionnaire aiming at evaluating the implementation of the principles of the Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education (with focus on Article 13 on skills for promoting social cohesion, valuing diversity and handling differences and conflict) in the four partner countries.

It was also decided that the documentary to be produced within the pilot project would focus on how school can contribute to combat discrimination and show various practices to address this topic. Finally, the partner countries agreed upon the next steps of the implementation of the pilot project and scheduling end of November an international promotional event in Moscow to give visibility to the results and achievements of the pilot project.
