Launching Conference and First Joint Coordination Meeting - Projects 5th Cycle

The Launching conference of the European Union/Council of Europe Joint Programme “Democratic and Inclusive School Culture in Operation (DISCO)” will take place in Strasbourg on 16 April.

Two projects will be promoted in the new cycle: the first project, “Digital Resistance” focuses on digital citizenship education and it aims to promote the development of pupils’ competences in the field of online content evaluation. An inquiry-based learning strategy will be developed to address discrimination, indoctrination and fake news on the internet and on social media. In addition, a “pupil’s community of digital citizens” for sharing good practices and knowledge will be established. This project brings together partners from Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy and Romania.

The second project “coLAB – a laboratory for new forms of collaboration” promotes a whole school/community approach and it aims at improving the social integration of migrants and refugees in the academic environment. The output of this project will be a handbook of good practices for the integration of migrants and refugees as teaching staff and experts in Higher Education Institutions. This project sees the participation of partners from Belgium, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.

On 17 April, project partners will meet for the First Joint Coordination Meeting to discuss future activities and initiatives to be promoted.
