The Launching Conference on Democratic Learning Community took place on 29 September 2017 in Pristina, as part of the European Union/ Council of Europe Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey Action: “Fostering a democratic school culture and diversity in schools”.

The aim of the conference was to officially launch activities with the pilot schools, to create a network for information and practices exchange, as well as to inform the schools and the wider public about the expected results of the project. The head of the Council of Europe office in Pristina, representative of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the representative of the European Uunion Office in Kosovo presented their opening remarks. The event brought together over 230 participants, consisting of school teams and representatives of local and international institutions, municipal directorates for education, ngos working in the education sector and other stakeholders working in the field of education and anti-discrimination.
