The implementation of the integrity plans adopted in 2016 by the Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils of Montenegro were discussed amongst members of the two Councils and representatives of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption at the two training sessions which took place on 28 and 29 September in Podgorica.

Integrity managers of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils presented the integrity plans of both institutions and the main findings from the annual report on their implementation. The representatives of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption presented the findings on areas of specific risks for corruption in judiciary and prosecution and gave several practical examples of possible corruptive activities which can happen in courts and prosecutor’s offices. Risks of corruption were presented, tackling also issues likely to be considered in the upcoming compliance report of the Group of States against Corruption for Montenegro and triggering the discussion.

The training sessions were organised by the Council of Europe Programme Office in Podgorica, within the framework of the “Accountability of the Judicial System” an action that is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe as part of the programmatic framework “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey.
