Evironment friendly Year 2014 Calendar in Armenia

The Armenian Emerald Network team prepared a Year 2014 Calendar, marking the important dates celebrated globally, dedicated to environment, nature and biodiversity issues. The Calendar features pictures of Emerald Network sites in the country, as well as of various species of European importance protected through the Network.

Project results for 2013 in Azerbaijan available now

February 2014 Baku, Azerbaijan
The national Emerald team from Azerbaijan presents the reuslts obtained in the country in the implementation of the project throughout 2013. The team managed to identify two new aeras in the country,  Abheron and Gobustan, thus bringing the number of proposed Emerald sites to 12. Project results for 2013 in Armenia available now

February 2014 Yerevan, Armenia
During 2013, the country Emerald sites proposals grew from 9 in 2012 to 12 in 2013, with three additional areas identified as corresponding to the Network requirements. The total area of the 12 Emerald Network sites covers 291329.0 ha and it now covers around 9.88% of the total country territory. Kick-off meeting of the project

24th-26th April 2013 Kiev, Ukraine
The regional Kick-off meeting of the project gathering representatives from the national authorities, NGOs and academia from all target countries took place in Kiev. It was the launching event of the Joint EU/CoE Programme on the setting-up of the Emerald Network (Phase II) in seven target countries from Central and Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and Ukraine).

2014 Calendar of activities

February 2014 Strasbourg, France
The Steering Committee of the project agreed on the activities to be implemented during 2014. One national event will be organised in all target countries in the first semester of 2014, followed by preparatory biogeographical seminars in autumn 2014.

First national event in Armenia

25-26 June 2013 Yerevan, Armenia
The first national event in the frame of the project in Armenia took place in Yerevan, on 25-26 June 2013.

1st Steering Committee meeting

18 October 2013 Strasbourg, France
The Steering Committee of the project gathered for the first time in Strasbourg, on 18 October 2013. This project decision-making body unites representatives from the national authorities and the Emerald project leaders from the seven target countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and Ukraine), the project manager at the Council of Europe, the project manager at the European Commission and the scientific experts of the project.

First national event in Azerbaijan

5-6 June 2013 Baku, Azerbaijan
