Second Reference Group Meeting on Development of a Progress Review Methodology of the Justice Sector Reforms Implementation (Methodology) organized by the EU/CoE joint project “Consolidation of Justice Sector Policy Development in Ukraine” took place on 24 June 2016 in Kyiv.

The team of CoE international consultants presented the outline of the Methodology, its specific indicators and main principles on which the development of the Methodology will be based. Challenges and questionable issues regarding different sub-sectors of the justice sector were broadly discussed and offered solutions by the Reference Group members.

Representatives of the Council of Europe, Ministry of Justice, High Council of Justice, High Qualification Commission of Judges, Council of Judges, Committee of Legal Policy and Justice of the Verkhovna Rada, Supreme Court, National Bar Association, other representatives of the justice sector, civil society, international organisations, other partners of the project and international projects participated in the meeting.

A series of follow-up bilateral and focus group meetings with involvement of the team of CoE international consultants and justice sector actors will be held in the next months to ensure the principle of inclusion and holistic approach in the process of the development of the Methodology.
