Great success of the Second Coordination meeting of the C4i Project

The Second Coordination meeting of the C4i Project has taken place with great success in the premises of the CoE office in Brussels on June 26-27. The meeting brought together the local coordinators and the city representatives of the 11 eleven participant cities Amadora (PT), Barcelona (ES), Bilbao (ES), Botkyrka (SE), Erlangen (DE), Limerick (IE), Loures (PT), Lublin (PL), Nuremberg (DE), Patras (GR) and Sabadell (ES).

In addition, to the meeting attended and contributed members of the European Commission (DG HOME), Council of Europe experts and from the Ukrainian Intercultural Cities network.

During the meeting the priorities of the European Commission in regard to immigration and integration were presented, followed by a presentation on the part of each city of its experience and the status of the local campaign so far. The activities already completed were articulated and the description of the local networks established ensued.

During this session the representatives of the cities had the opportunity to constructively engage with each other and share ideas on how to better design and implement their plans of local campaign.

After the experience of Barcelona, who has already successfully implemented an anti-rumours campaign, all C4i cities are now formulating their own distinctive campaign adapted to their respective needs.

Training of antirumours agents, one of main objectives of the C4i project, as a tool for social engagement was also discussed during the meeting.

Furthermore, a presentation on social change and impact indicators and on the way actions will be evaluated were also deliberated.

The closure of the meeting was marked by the provision of overall guidelines the setting of priorities and tasks to be completed by the cities in the near and longer future.
