On May 14-15, within the framework of the C4i Project, financed by the European Commission and implemented by the Council of Europe, Project Manager Gemma Pinyol and Engagement and Campaign consultant Daniel de Torres, received a warm welcome by the C4i Loures team. The visit which has been a remarkable success had a dual objective: first to meet with Loures city Council representatives and second with members of the civil society of the city both of which are engaged in the implementation and success of the project.
On the first day, a joint coordination and capacity building meeting took place between the visitors, the C4i Loures team and city council member Maria Eugenia Coelho. The organizational unit of the municipality of Loures, responsible for the development of related to the C4i project themes such: as human rights, immigration and social cohesion also attended the meeting. In the afternoon, additional municipal services – education services, corporate communication, culture, sports, youth, health promotion and social housing –whose presence and contribution was deemed essential joined the capacity building session.
In the second day, dedicated to civil society, the C4i team from the Council of Europe met with representatives of cultural, educational, religious and social organization as an essential first step in explaining the project to local stakeholders. This is one of the C4i priorities to ensure its implementation in the most suitable way taking into consideration specific local needs.
