Drawing to close a successful three years’ co-operation on equality

The closing steering committee of the action on ‘promotion of diversity and equality in Kosovo*’ took place in Pristina, at the presence of the Ombudsperson Qelaj, the Head of the Office for Good Governance Habit Hajredini and the Head of the COE office in Pristina Frank Power. Beneficiaries and project partners gathered to look back at implementation, notably to the numerous activities that took place in the last period. Specific focus was paid to the support provided by the action to the reform of human rights mechanisms, to ensure the law on protection from discrimination is correctly implemented. Such support led to an improved system on human rights reporting, culminating with the publication of the 2022 report by OGG last month.

One of the no-hate ambassadors joined to present the activities of the block the hatred campaign, and its reach out at local level and through social media. Representatives of the grantees (NGOs Concordia; Down Syndrome and Youth Initiatives for Human Rights) focused on their initiatives and achievements completing the campaign efforts, working with youngsters; persons with disabilities; representatives from the Roma community.

The activity was organised within the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, and its action on “Promotion of diversity and equality ”.
