First online training needs assessment survey in Kosovo*

The director of the Justice Academy of Kosovo and the heads of the initial and continuous training programmes held on 23 May an online meeting with the European Commission for the efficiency of justice (CEPEJ) expert, Marina Naumovska, to prepare the implementation of a training needs assessment survey.

This survey will be for the first time conducted online and its objective is to ask court presidents, judges and court staff what they see as the most important needs in order to improve court efficiency. Based on the results, the training curriculum of the Academy will be further improved to include CEPEJ tools and methodology.

The participants discussed the questionnaires, the platform, and the future preparation of a report analysing the information collected. The implementation of this survey will serve as a pilot exercise to enable the Academy, from then on, to conduct online training needs assessment on a regular basis on specific topics, which is a great step forward.

This activity has been implemented within the joint EU/CoE programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkan and Turkey II”, and its action on “Strengthening the quality and efficiency of justice in Kosovo”, implemented by the Council of Europe.
