On 14 April 2021 the second meeting of the Steering Committee of the Project "Support to the judicial reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia" was held online. The Project is funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe within the framework of the Partnership for Good Governance (PGG II) programme.
The Project aims to ensure that the population and court users benefit from more independent, transparent and efficient functioning of the judiciary in Armenia.The Project is focused on the assessment of legislation related to the justice system of Armenia and the provision of recommendations as to strengthening the independence, impartiality and efficiency of the judiciary in Armenia, in line with the Council of Europe standards.
During the event, the discussion was held over the presentation of the results of the implementation of the Work Plan for the period of January - December 2020 and the approval of the Work Plan for the period of January - December 2021.
The discussion was attended by the representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Court of Cassation, the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia and other national partners.
