"Emerald Network of Nature Protection Sites, Phase II"

Project objectives

The project targets seven countries from Central and Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and Ukraine) and focuses on Phase II of the Emerald Network constitution process. It follows-up on the work achieved in the frame of a previous Joint EU/CoE Programme, implemented in the period 2009-2011.

Expected results

At the end of the project, the outstanding potential Emerald sites of protected areas in all target countries will have been identified and their ecological databases completed. They will have been assessed in view of their sufficiency for ensuring the long-term survival of the Bern Convention...
