Baku Commitment to Youth Policies launched at the First Global Forum on Youth Policies
With over 700 participants coming from 165 countries, the First Global Forum on Youth Policies, held in Baku, from 28-30 October 2014, specifically aimed at elevating the youth policy debate, with the particular purpose of advancing youth policy development and its full and effective implementation at all levels.
Through 3 days of discussion, representatives from the civil society, the United Nations, governments, and international and regional organisations helped to shape a common understanding of key principles for integrated and inclusive youth policy development. Following the Forum, the UN Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth-Ahmad Alhendawi launched the "Baku Commitment to Youth Policies" on behalf of all the co-conveners.
The Baku Commitment to Youth Policy outlines 8 key guiding principles and 10 follow up actions.
