Theme: Show your culture 
Date: 29 September - 6 October 2014

Description: The activity will be launched in Tirana on 29th of September 2014, which is also proclaimed by law the National Heritage Day of Albania. The main activity will consist of displaying a range of traditional music instruments of private ownership, not promoted and known enough among the public. The exhibition will be followed by a parade of dancers with traditional old costumes and a festival of dances in the Historic Center of the capital. A fair of traditional crafts and works by artisans will be displayed that day in the square, so as to attract visitors and public in general. During these days young people who are members of an organization called "Friends of monuments" will distribute promotional material and will undertake awareness raising campaigns for the maintenance and cleaning of the monuments and sites around the country. Other events such as festivals, fairs, TV programs and exhibitions will be organized throughout the country by the Regional Directorates of National Culture.


Theme: Culture and Diversity
Date: 5-7 October 2013

Description: This year’s theme of European Heritage Days in Albani is "Culture and Diversity" and the main activity is focused on the old city of Berat, one of the most important monumental centers in Albania known for its Christian origins. The activity titled "The musical encounters of the two worlds" aims to promote the best values of contemporary and traditional music, with the scope of increasing the responsibility to protect and preserve the national cultural heritage as well to enhance the awareness for the European dimension of this heritage.
